SUBJECT(S): PRINTS AND MULTIPLES BY JONATHAN BOROFSKY, 1982-1991. James Cuno and Ruth Fine. Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Hanover, 1991. Published 1992. 112 pp. with 72 ills. (10 col.). 30 x 24 cm. LC 91-40562 ISBN 0944722113 In English.
Presents 35 stylistically diverse prints and portfolios, six multiple sculptures and other works by Borofsky (b. 1942), including still lifes, cartoon-like sketches, calligraphic panels, self-portraits and large-scale silhouette figures, many of the images linked to the dream-like personal narratives embodied in the multi-media, ephemeral installations for which the American artist is best known. Illustrations and extensive individual analyses of the multiple editions and series of unique variants are prefaced by an essay examining the collaborative process central to Borofsky's recent works, specifically as represented in his relationship with printers and fabricators of the Gemini G.E.L. workshop.
