JACKIE WINSOR. Dean Sobel et al. Milwaukee Art Museum, 1991. 136 pp. with 90 ills. (42 col.). 28 x 26 cm. LC 91-45838 ISBN 0944110096 In English.
Surveys post-Minimalist sculptures produced by noted American artist Winsor (b. 1941) from 1967 to 1990, presenting full-page reproductions of 28 works that range from early rope assemblages and painted wooden cube sculptures of the 1970s to recent spherical floor pieces and wall-mounted rectangular abstractions in concrete. Illustrated with many additional works by the artist, three critical essays examine the development of Winsor's meditative oeuvre, the methodical and painstaking procedures central to the creation of her subtly expressive sculptures, and the "ritualism" inherent in her approach.
