The first extensive survey of the avant-garde sculptural oeuvre of French artist Vilmouth (b. 1952), this catalogue presents some 50 works produced by the artist since 1975, ranging from wall-mounted neon text pieces and architectonic and minimalist installations of office furniture, mirrors and clocks to monumental site-specific constructions. Five texts discussing Vilmouth's motifs and conceptual concerns, his use of ready-mades, and the cultural context of his public works are supplemented by an anthology of more than 20 reprinted critical commentaries.
