Showcases recent building projects and a selection of designs for chairs, lighting fixtures and other furnishings by internationally noted Swiss architect Botta (b. 1943), presenting photographs, drawings, models and short descriptive texts to document 16 realized projects (ranging from private residences in Switzerland to a Tokyo art gallery) and two works in progress: a cathedral on the outskirts of Paris and the new building for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. A critical essay discussing the featured works and their links to the traditions of Kahn and Le Corbusier is supplemented by an interview with Botta focusing on his views of architectural trends of the 1980s. References to the Paris exhibition have been deleted from the English edition of the catalogue.
