Surveys 35 works produced from 1962 to 1990 by noted French artist Raynaud (b. 1939), illustrating his manipulation of a simplified vocabulary of forms (black-edged white tiles, numeric gauges and flowerpots) to create individual sculptural objects and architectonic installations variously reflecting the aesthetics of Constructivism, Minimalism and Pop art. Critical introductory texts include a commentary on Raynaud's imagery and his connections to Post-Modernism, a discussion of his delayed recognition in the United States, and an illustrated essay on his monumental works and public commissions.
