Documents the first significant exhibition devoted to Boeckhorst, a Munster portraitist and painter of religious and Classical subjects who spent much of his career in Antwerp, where he studied under Jordaens and was influenced by Rubens and Van Dyck. Including scholarly commentaries on 22 paintings and 19 drawings, the catalogue features eleven essays which examine numerous aspects of the artist's oeuvre and stylistic development and also address the particularly difficult questions of attribution associated with his work.
