Presenting full-page reproductions of nearly 100 organic abstractions produced from 1947 to 1989 by major Italian sculptor Consagra (b. 1920), this catalogue surveys a highly coherent oeuvre comprising free-standing screen-like works formed variously from stone, wood or layers of pierced sheet metal. Four brief essays discussing the course of Consagra's career and the distinctive frontal style of his work are supplemented by substantial anthologies of writings by and about the artist and a detailed biographical chronology.
