Publisher's description: #Sandy is a book of iPhone photos of Hurricane Sandy captured by photographers Benjamin Lowy, Stephen Wilkes, Ed Kashi VII, Hank Willis Thomas, 13th Witness, Richard Renaldi, Michael Christopher Brown, Wyatt Gallery, Ruddy Roye and others. After Hurricane Sandy devastated communities in the New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut areas in October of 2012, Foley Gallery and photographer Wyatt Gallery organized an exhibition of iPhone photographs of the storm by the photographers featured here. Hundreds of people attended the one-night event, and almost 400 photographs were purchased: as a result, $19,000 was donated to Occupy Sandy and Third Wave Volunteers. All royalties from this collection, published to coincide with the Rising Waters exhibition at the Museum of The City of New York, will be entirely donated to Occupy Sandy and Sandy Storyline.
