TRANSARTS. Ed. by Stephan Hilge et al. Ambra Verlag, Vienna, 2013. Published in association with Universitat fur angewandte Kunst, Vienna. Edition Angewandte. 168 pp. with 163 ills. (153 col.) and 104 reference ills. 20 x 15 cm. ISBN 9783990435779 In English.
Publisher's description: TransArts is a novel approach in the art education system, a course whose content and forms are adapted to the dynamics of art today: the separation of the theory and practice of art - while maintaining all the differences - is seen as arbitrary and even obsolete. TransArts teaches the common and distinctive features of theory and practice and takes account of the fact that different artistic disciplines are mutually dependent and reinforcing but are also in competition with one another. Art is taught and studied not only through traditional forms of teaching but in particular through communication, inventiveness, reflection and the exchange of ideas between teachers and students. This publication documents the activities of Trans-Arts from 2010 to 2013.
