KING'S COLLEGE CHAPEL, ABERDEEN, 1500-2000. Second, revised edition. Ed. by Jane Geddes. Maney Publishing, London, 2014. Original edition published 2000. 392 pp. with 173 ills. (31 col.). 25 x 17 cm. ISBN 9781907975981 In English.
This second edition has been revised and expanded to include new information regarding the original use and meaning of choir stalls and woodwork of the medieval chapel, as new iconography in the stalls has been discovered since the book's original publication. The installation of a new organ prompted reevaluation of the original function and appearance of the great pulpitum, as well as the discovery of a location of a lost organ loft. Also featured is a new interpretation of the great baroque biblical paintings.
