Illustrated by artist couple Durgabai Vyam and Subhash Vyam, this volume tells the life story of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (1891-1956), an important figure in India's history who was born into the "untouchable" caste and went on to become one of India's foremost revolutionaries, campaigning against the Hindu caste system and drafting the Indian Constitution that was adopted in 1949; includes a short foreword by John Berger and an informative afterword by author S. Anand describing the project and its historical context.
