Examines the political and cultural irony inherent in an unrealized project in which Dutch artist Van Houwelingen (b. 1957) proposed switching the locations of two important historical statues by moving to the Hague the Amsterdam statue of Johan Rudolph Thorbecke, the first prime minister of the Netherlands, and relocating a statue of Dutch Jewish philosopher Baruch Spinoza to Thorbecke's spot in Amsterdam.
