This unusual catalogue raisonne features watercolor illustrations by American conceptual artist Cronin (b. 1963) that depict neo-classical marble statues by noted American sculptor Harriet Hosmer (1830-1908), the illustrations accompanied by Cronin's own scholarly commentaries on 28 of the 19th-century artist's works; Cronin's project was the focus of exhibitions held in 2007 at the American Academy in Rome and in 2009 at the Brooklyn Museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.
