Osgood and Company, Boston) of the second, revised and expanded version (first published in 1776) of Winckelmann's classic work Geschichte der Kunst des Alterthums (In der Waltherischen Hof-Buchhandlung, Dresden, 1764), along with a volume consisting of a facsimile of Reflections on the Painting and Sculpture of the Greeks, with Instructions for the Connoisseur and an Essay on Grace in Works of Art (first translated and published in 1765) and two short essays: Description of the Torso in the Belvedere in Rome and Essay on the Capacity for the Sentiment for the Beautiful in Art, and On Instruction in It, both newly translated by the editor.
