This large-format volume reproduces all the color plates from Collection of Etruscan, Greek and Roman Antiquities From the Cabinet of the Honbl. Wm. Hamilton, commissioned by British collector William Hamilton (1730-1803) to document his collection of ancient Mediterranean vases and originally published in four volumes in Naples and Florence between 1767 and 1776; the plates are accompanied by two new essays examining the importance of the collection and new captions detailing current locations of many depicted vases.
