An outgrowth of an architectural competition organized by the Israel Association of United Architects (IAUA), the original edition of this publication was intended to serve as the catalogue of an exhibition examining the role of Israeli architecture in the Middle East conflict. However, due to censorship by the organizers, the exhibition being prepared by architects Eyal Weizman and Rafi Segal for the 2002 Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) congress in Berlin was canceled, and the original edition of the catalogue was banned and later destroyed.
