This volume is an illustrated guide to John Ruskin's monumental three-volume work The Stones of Venice (Elder Smith, London, 1851-1853). Compiled from the original, this abridgement features much of Ruskin's original prose, many of his drawings and watercolors, as well as more than two hundred recent photographs that demonstrate how the city's architecture has survived or changed since the book's publication.
