Highlighting a diverse selection of drawings produced from 1925 to 1980 by Roszak (1907-1981), an American artist best known for his sculptural oeuvre, this catalogue presents reproductions of more than 70 works that range from early Constructivist and Cubist studies to biomorphic surrealist compositions, expressive futuristic abstractions and apocalyptic images. Supplemented by analyses of many individual sheets, a critical essay discusses Roszak's intense career-long involvement with drawing, tracing links between his personal and political philosophy and the evolution of his archetypal and cosmological imagery.
